Sparkling Salt with Cosmic Crisp®

I created a simple, beautiful recipe for Cosmic Crisp®, that is also an amazing gifting idea, using only 5 ingredients! Sparkling Salt tastes amazing with Cosmic Crisp® apple crisps, adds an elegant, edible touch to your Charcuterie board, and is a delicious rim on your favorite sweet or spicy holiday cocktail (stay tuned for my "Crispmas Punch" recipe, coming soon!).

Makes 1 5-ounce jar

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon smoked applewood salt

  • 1 tablespoon flake salt

  • 5 tablespoons sparkling sugar

  • 2 teaspoons fresh juniper berries with small fronds

  • 2 teaspoons fresh spruce tips – sub fresh rosemary if not available

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the salts, sugar and juniper berries with small pieces of the fronds.

  2. Place the spruce tips or fresh rosemary on two layers of paper towel. Place on a plate and microwave on high for 1½ minutes to dehydrate. Transfer to a cutting board and roughly chop. Add to the mixture and stir to fully combine.

  3. Place in an air tight glass jar with lid.
